A Little Bit About Me…

With a focus on providing culturally sensitive and empathetic care, I offer a safe space to explore your emotions, thoughts and beliefs. With over ten years of experience as a mental health practitioner in California, Utah, and New York, I have gained valuable insights into understanding different cultures and honoring each individual's journey through life's challenges. I come from a mixed ethnic and cultural background and have a unique perspective and understanding of identity, pressures and stressors.

I am a mother of two, and greatly enjoy the outdoors whether it be exploring the mountains, or catching waves in the ocean.

Education and Experience

I hold dual Master’s degrees in Social Work and Public Administration from the University of Southern California. Following my graduation, I gained extensive experience as a clinical social worker in diverse fields, including domestic violence, general medicine, intensive care, and oncology. I then transitioned to private practice, where I have been helping adults manage anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions and cultural identity for the past eight years.

My experience covers the west coast of California, the Rocky Mountains of Utah, and the east coast of New York City. This geographic diversity has given me insights into various cultures and life challenges from a place of non-judgement and understanding. My mixed cultural and ethnic background gives me a unique understanding of identity-related challenges and how they intersect with Eastern Asian and Western cultures and the anxiety, pressures and stressors that can be present.

Approach

My therapeutic approach is rooted in contextual behavioral science, focusing on the intricate relationship between our past experiences and our present interactions. I utilize a diverse array of evidence-based practices, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Relational Frame Theory (RFT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

By drawing from these methodologies, I am able to tailor the therapeutic experience to meet the unique needs of each individual. Understanding one's personal context and how historical experiences shape current challenges is important for me to be able to facilitate meaningful change and guide you on your journey towards the life you want to live.
